How to become a 'new Bedouin'...

Its been 2 year since I have entered the workforce. Life has been good I guess. A good 9 - 5 job, the daily dose of stress, constant interaction with people of the same background and intellect, decent salary and not to mention an office to die for. (Yes the office bit is a bit far fetch, I should say an office to loose yourself in..literally..)

But I sometime do wonder, why can I not work at an environment that I like? e.g starbuck, gloria jeans, nearby park, the beach or just away from the office.

Well, I guess for me that is abit hard. Being a hardware/software tester ain't easy when the system you test are not really that PORTABLE. Working away from the office will mean bringing all those spare system with me. But I guess during those time when all my work consist of is technical documentation, then I would love to be able to work away from the office and just get a change of scenery.

With the technology nowadays, that is not even impossible. Abit of money and abit of brain is all you need. (Or working for a telco company / a manager that is really really kind to you.. haha)

5 things you need to become a 'new Bedouin'

1. A laptop with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capability
2. A smartphone or PDA with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capability
3. Back-up storage in the event of Laptop failure
4. An ability to work in different environments
5. Spare change for coffee and a muffin

*extract from NZ Herald*

Once you have equip yourself with the 5 necessary item, you can quickly email work on your Wi-Fi capable laptop to inform them your new office location and continue on with your work. With a cup of freshly brewed coffee and a fresh out of the oven muffin, over-looking the ocean, listening to the sound of waves crashing against the rocks. *sigh* arh....thats life for you.

Of course, if that doesn't work. And your line of work allows you, you can consider the idea of "CONTRACTING" out ... haha ...
